Break through!

I had an awesome break through with Charlotte today! I was wearing half gloves when I decided to open the cage and check on the mice and after Winnie ran up and down my arm for a while Charlotte decided to see what this was all about and actually climbed on my hand! This is a mouse who previously would avoid my hand like the plague! I have not been super dedicated to taming but I am really happy this happened. IN the video you can hear me say ow because Winnie was trying to chew on the gloves. Either way I am elated to have Charlotte show interest in me.

They're so pretty. My girls all love to try to chew my gloves. lol

That's terrific news! Sometimes all it takes is for one mouse to notice what another one is doing to break the ice. In my last colony, the quintet, if alpha Anya said it was OK, the others would follow. This was very handy in getting the girls out of the playpen bin to go back to the newly cleaned tank: as soon as I opened the lid, Anya would run up the little bird ladder and wait to be picked up, followed by Cordelia, Tara, Buffy and the always reluctant Willow. Sometimes there'd be a mouse mob at the top of the ladder with two or three trying to climb onto my hand at once Laughing
