Mesh ramps?

I was helping someone out on Hamster Hideout and they asked a good question that I'm not sure of, here it is:

I think mesh ramps would be fine but I would probably cover them in fleece. I think the problem comes when all or most of the flooring is mesh and they have little choice but to stand/walk on it all the time.

I imagine mice spend less time on a ramp then on a wheel, and the little squares would offer a good grip so no mice slide/fall when they climb down it. I agree that fleece would be a good cover if you were worried, though.
