They left the wheel it in its last beat up shipping box, it still had the original address on it (it went to Pennsylvania before me), and just stuck it in a bigger box to send to me.

Re: Random Thoughts
Guys, I'm not a hamster fan, but one time at Petco when my sister got a new hammy, I saw this absolutely gorgeous merle hamster!!
If only because of his color--which I know is a shallow reason
--I wanted him. I wanted him so bad. Sadly, I could not get him.
The picture doesn't do his gorgeous coloring justice, but here's a picture of him in the igloo eating, and looking like he wants to fall asleep while doing so:

I wanted to name him Scallywag.

It's Amazon Warehouse Deals. It's like $2 more for brand new, so not much of a deal! lol@CallaLily wrote:WTH? They should just give up already and toss it! Is this a particular shop or ??
@Blessed, I once stalked a hamster I named SmeeSquee. I visited him every day for a week, saw him Thursday, went to get him on Friday and he was gone. I was so disappointed I teared up on the way back to the car. Then my husband found Rosie. No SmeeSquee, but she's pretty cool too! Scallywag is a cute name.

Re: Random Thoughts
Graham is super cute. I hope the vet will have some helpful advice.

River, yes, Graham is so cute! =D I saw the cut on the back of her neck...goodness!, so, is it really still bleeding?

Re: Random Thoughts
Thank you! As for if it's still bleeding, I can only say sometimes. She left it alone for a few days and then decided she absolutely hates it. Scratches the scabs off sometimes but I stop her when I notice and clean it up. It was bleeding last night. Nothing heavy, but for a mouse, that's a big cut!

Edit: As I was talking about it to my dad, there was a worker just standing nearby, holding a bird. . .

Re: Random Thoughts
Good news! Appointment was bumped up to 10:30 AM tomorrow morning. This vet is close and reasonably priced ($53 for an appointment) so I'm excited to see how they care for her.
A family owned bird store popped up not but 10 minutes away from me. It's walking distance, actually. Looks like Gacy will be getting lots of new toys and a harness! He had the cutest lovebirds and cockatiels all around and was very educated. They have a grooming station to clip nails, so we'll be getting use out of it.
Here's the lady, less than enthused about my bird trips:

Re: Random Thoughts
I lost another of my lady mice last night. My female colonies are almost small enough to keep together now, which has been a goal for like three years. But if I want to keep both of my neutered boys in a colony I have to keep on maintaining two. I didn't think about that! I don't know what to do. They can each have their own colony at the moment, but in the future my options will be keeping a couple extra ladies for one, or suddenly keeping one by himself. Hmm.

Re: Random Thoughts
I tried to get a vet wrap sweater on Graham today...didnt work! You cannot slip something on these mice at all, she just climbed right out. It was stressful for both of us so I just gave up, cuddled her, and added a new toy instead. I wonder how people do it! Maybe I'll try some leg holes tomorrow...

Graham sure is a pretty girl. I hope she will leave the cut alone long enough for it to heal.
