I think our mouse is dying!!!?!?! Empty I think our mouse is dying!!!?!?!

We got our female mice in sept of 2019. I do everything according to what I have read and been told. Our sweet Little Oreo is acting very weird. I was gone for a few days, and my husband and daughter were in charge and I know they didn’t have anything to do with the issues. But we went to get them out tonight and our Oreo is isn’t doing good. She lost a ton of weight, isn’t active, not doing much but wanting to sit in our hands. We got her to drink and eat a bit. But when we put her down she walks off balance in circles and then comes back to our hands. I am sad to think the sweetest mouse we have owned is not going to make it. Any advice?

Walking in circles can mean an ear infection. Your best bet is to take her to the vet. If she is losing weight it may mean she is having difficulty getting her food and water. You can try feeding her baby food (stage 1 peas, bananas) every few hours to make sure she gets enough food. If it is an ear infection it can be treated, the sooner the better.

She definitely needs to see a vet at this point - as others have said, there's a possibility that she has an ear infection, and if so she could very well recover with antibiotics! Try and syringe/spoon feed her water and baby food until you can get her seen.

There is unfortunately also the possibility that the head tilt and circling are being caused by something else. After an ear infection, the most likely culprit is probably a tumor, unfortunately, so I would brace yourself in case the worse is true. It may be in your little girl's best interest to let her go if she's unable to eat and drink on her own and isn't responding to antibiotics.

There's also the possibility than an underlying neurological/genetic disorder is causing her to twirl or 'waltz', my darling Trouble was a twirly girl for most of her life. She lived for quite a few months with a head tilt and circling, so it is possible - but you will have to pay attention to whether or not she's able to feed, water, and groom herself.
