Goose doesn't feel good
so nothing is actually wrong... But he's not acting like himself. The last few days, he's mostly been sleeping. His tank is right by the couch, so I am very familiar with his routine. He only comes out to eat and drink and then goes right back to bed. I woke him up this evening to get a good look at him and make sure he didn't have any symptoms that needed treating. Nope, no uri, no lumps, no injuries. He still ran around on me like normal and ate his cherrio but then went right back to bed when I put him back.
This makes me so sad. He's 1 yr 8 mo and has always looked scrawny and unkempt but had never been sick a day in his life. I mean, I guess he's getting old... Especially for a runty feeder mouse. Not my Goobie, Mr. Goobois!!! Hopefully, he just shakes this off and goes back to normal. But as it stands, he doesn't have any symptoms that could be treated so there isn't anything I can do for him

Re: Goose doesn't feel good
Holly acts like this all the time too, she has never been normal like the other mice. I mean, you can tell she's healthy and all, but in the 6 months I have had her, (Oh my goodness, I just realized I have had her 6 months, I need to do something about that!), she has always acted weird. She never comes out, only for a little bit at night, is super tiny, and compared to the other mice she still looks like a baby. Yet she still eats, drinks, and runs healthy. She is the only mouse I have from PetCo, I have a feeling that has something to do with it. There are no signs of illness at all though, it's just her personality. I hope your little Goose is just going through a phase though, and he'll get over it soon.
Re: Goose doesn't feel good
He's always been a little weirdo but also hyperactive. He feverishly runs constantly since the day I got him. He has 2 wheels and jumps back and forth from one to the other, day and night, taking naps here and there. So this sleeping all day, only coming out to eat/drink is very out of character. He also typically begs to come out every time I walk by but he hasn't done that for the last couple of days. I've had to put my hand in and ask him to come out or wake him up. So, the sudden change in behavior is worrisome

I hope little Goose perks up soon, it must be terrible seeing him act so different when there isn't much you can do. I'm sure he'll be back to normal in no time, sometimes us mouse mums worry a little too much ♡

Poor Goose! Sounds like it could be his age slowing him down, if he's 20 months old.

Re: Goose doesn't feel good
I'm going to lose Goose, I don't think he's going to get better. He was completely MIA all day. Goose is typically a very predictable guy, he has a routine... but has been absent. He was in his hammock this morning and awake, but he wouldn't come out. That has never happened. Ever. And tonight, I found him lying out in the open by his water bottle. So I picked him up, he's having trouble walking. In the entire time I've had him, he has never sat still until today. He walks around like a baby mouse, wobbly and shaky. So, me and the husband basically said our goodbyes tonight. It's been a rough day losing Teddy and with Goose doing so poorly. I'm going to bed... sigh...

Oh no, poor Goose! I'm so sorry, Scaredy. I still remember when you got him. The walking trouble sounds like most of my mice before they passed. It'll be okay though.
Wait, did something happen to Teddy?

So sad to hear that Goose isn't doing well, especially after losing Teddy. Not a good day for you
hope he surprises you and manages to pull through.

Aww, I am sorry about this. Hopefully he pulls through and continues to lighten up your day for longer. If he does pass, just know he'll be playing with Teddy and all of our passed mice on the rainbow bridge

Re: Goose doesn't feel good
Thank you for asking! We've been seeing him a bit more and he's a little less wobbly... but he's not himself. It's possible he had a stroke or something, I guess. I hate being so helpless, I don't know what to do for him. The one thing that has improved is that he's back to wanting to come out and see me. That makes me happy. So I've just been spending all the time I can with him. The fact that he's still alive and didn't continue to decline makes me cautiously optimistic. I love that little guy so darn much.
But my poor Furgie is on her last days. I know it's not a surprise but it's rough watching her die a little more everyday
