Re: How's the weather?
Maybe you could crush normal ice? Frozen bottles, tiles, misting the ears with cool water and setting up a fan are all things that I've seen recommended for outdoor bunnies.
He should do fine outside if he's watched carefully and has shade. Has he had any potential buyers?

Yes, I think that will work. Thank you!River wrote:Maybe you could crush normal ice? I did have one lady who was very knowledgeable about rabbits. She was going to keep him indoors, just like I hoped (I really want him to go to an indoor home!), she had another rabbit for him to be friends with, and her rabbit was fixed. Everything seemed perfect. She came over, and played with him for a while, he even had a play date with her bunny. However, she said he was a lot bigger than she was expecting, and he kept humping her rabbit... I did not know his gender at the time and she helped me figure out he was an intact male. Her rabbit was male too, and I guess males don't get along very well, especially if they aren't fixed. So, she decided not to take him.
Then someone said it was their rabbit and sent me a picture, but it was totally not their rabbit.
Someone asked a question about him, I replied, they never replied back.
And finally, someone else wanted to keep him outside, in a sort of chicken coop. I told them nicely that I really wanted him to be an indoor rabbit, they weren't very nice when they replied

It's supposed to hit 100 on Thursday, so I guess I finally have to start wearing shorts. :p
It's weird seeing people talk about snow. For us, triple digits are just normal, it has to get to 115 or so before anyone starts getting *too* hot.

Re: How's the weather?
Yeah...no two rabbits will get along unless they're altered or breeding! Two altered males can go on great, though, but he'd probably be best in a single rabbit home or a home where he would be neutered. That said I have a few unaltered rabbits, but those who are unaltered are kept in separate rooms.
Do you mind me asking where you're located @PastelMouse ? Sounds hot! I get uncomfortable in the high nineties, even if those are common here. I've never seen snow, so I see it as weird too!

Re: How's the weather?
I start getting too hot when it gets into the 90s, and in summer it easily gets up to 100 here and then I really don't even want to leave the a/c.
It also gets very humid here so the temp may be 90 but it feels like 100 or it's 100 but it feels like 110, that plays a huge role in feeling uncomfortable I think. But I've never been anywhere during warmer months that isn't very humid, so idk.

Hot parts of Arizona. Thankfully it seems like we got a longer cold season this year, so yay.

Re: How's the weather?
Well, we're into our third day of 100+ temps: 100 on Wednesday, 103 yesterday and 106 today. It's hit 86 in the house (haven't turned on the AC yet as the temps will be going back down into the 80s in a day or two) so I unplugged the crabitat heater as I don't want "cooked" crabs! Gave Imogene a large chilled mug yesterday -- she investigated it but decided she didn't need to go inside so I guess she's handling the elevated heat in the house. Poor Bochy Pussinski seems a bit wilted and has warm paws instead of her usual cool ones. Ah, the joys of living in Arizona!

Re: How's the weather?
I've started freezing big bottles for the bunny - like the kind apple juice comes in. It came in handy yesterday, when it was in the high 90's and the bunny looked like he was panting. I gave it to him and he used it like a pillow
It's supposed to be really nice all next week, high 80's. We don't get the 100+ weather until later in the summer.

Re: How's the weather?
It is so nice this morning! I slept with the window open last night, and aside from hearing fireworks, having cats jump in and out through the screen they broke, and being a bit chilly... it was great.
It's 69 in the house, 59 outside, and the high is supposed to be 70! Perfect, especially without any clouds at all.
I've brought home too many homeless plants, so I'll get to planting them after i finish mowing. I dread mowing, there's so much crap from the trees that gets flung at my face.
But the yard looks much better afterwards, and we all enjoy it more. The neighbors mostly.

Today's high here is 65F with a chance for thunderstorms. Yesterday it rained pretty good too.

Thunderstorms and tornado watches. Yay! My favorite part about spring, except for spring cleaning.

Re: How's the weather?
It's been going back and forth between rain and sunshine, 50s and 70s, no allergies and allergies.
Yesterday my eyes were so red and puffy, I had hardly got any sleep because they wouldn't stop watering and waking me up. Last night was much better, but I'm scared to go look in the mirror! lol

That sounds so lovely. I don't know what the weather is usually like in DE, but to me that sounds like perfection.
High's have been over 100 recently, and it's getting kinda yucky. Thankfully it hasn't felt that hot yet.
I'm also going to Disneyland tomorrow, so I get a day of nice, cold weather.
