Are Legos safe for mice?
Are Legos safe to use in cages? I was wondering if it was safe to build a hideaway out of legos? I have not tried but I was just curious. I could put a smooth top piece on the bumps to prevent them from chewing them off, would that be safe? I just thought of it and thought it could be a really cute and cheap way of making different hideaways over and over. Of course I would never do it if it would put my girls in danger of choking or poisoning, but if they are safe for kids to swallow and sometimes chew on, would they be safe for mice? Of course I would disinfect them and if I noticed they were chewing them more than whats healthy, I would remove it. Under those cautionary circumstances, would that be safe?

They are safe.
However, they are a pain to clean as they will get mashed, dried poo squashed into every little crevice. Also, they won't be much good as toys for people any longer because they will have chew marks. It's not just the bumps that get chewed, it's the corners and edges, too.

Lego is safe. Some imitation brands may not be, so make sure they are actual real lego or mega blocks or certified ABS plastic.
I tried lego once, they seemed to enjoy running around on it but it was hard to clean. Right now i currently get clean dry cardboard for free at a local warehouse which i use to build most toys, that and popsicle sticks.
I didn't find my mice chewed their lego at all so it wasn't a big deal. I am sure some mice will but some might not.

I never thought about using lego before. It's quite a cute idea if you don't mind your lego getting ruined... mice, the masters of destruction
