SO ANNOYED
I got two pet mice on the 3rd of January and my dad is being woken up by them every night so he said (100000000% not joking) their new place is the kitchen cupboard where the bin is, yes I told him it's unhygienic and not safe, and he won't listen so my problem is because we live with my uncle when my 14 and 6 year old cousins come over they'll go near my mice without my permission and they'll frighten the poor things it's not fair and I'm so angry

In the cupboard? Like a pantry or a smaller cupboard? Will there be a normal day/night cycle? I'm assuming you mean their whole cage will be moved there? Is there no other room they could be in? Is it a squeaky wheel waking him up or chewing? Have you tried having some other background noise going, like a fan or something?
Take the time to show your cousins how to properly hold the mice. I would hope at least the 14 year old would treat them nicely. If the 6 year old is too grabby then have him interact with them during play time, without holding them.

What kind of wheel do you have?
Saucer wheels make very little noise, especially if you fit their base onto cardboard so they can't rock back and forth.
Comfort wheels, the big ones, make a lot of noise. Personally i like the sound so i don't mind them, but when i used to have 3 comfort wheels going all at once you could probably hear it from the street!

When your cousins come over, just remember that they are YOUR mice and YOU have control over them. If you don't want your cousins touching them, then tell your cousins that. If they want to hold the mice, maybe offer another option... such as giving them a treat. I have found the treat tacit very useful with my younger cousins. They love it when the mice snatch the treat out of their hands, and then they get to enjoy watching the mouse chow down on it!
If you are really worried about something happening to them, maybe you could talk to your dad about putting them in a temporary cage while your cousins are over? Put the cage in a room that the door can be shut. Explain to you dad how they will only be in there while your cousins are over, and how they can go right back into the normal cage in the bin once they leave. I hope that this advice will be able to help

Re: SO ANNOYED
Thankfully the cage only has to go in the cupboard where the bin is (the size of a pantry cupboard) at night but as soon as I wake up they can come back in mine and my dads room (all during the day) I'm going to get a silent spinner for them (my hamsters old one) and I'm just super annoyed because I don't want my cousins scaring my babies to death
the 14 year old proved himself tonight but the 6 year old has yet to prove herself but I'm anxious about leaving their home in the pantry cupboard where the bin is when my cousins are round as I feel I need to be awake at all times protecting my babies, I'm also highly concerned about how hygienic it is (they'll be on the shelf above the bin every night)

This might sound ridiculous, but you could camp out on the floor next to the pantry. Or if there is a couch or chair to sleep on nearby. Then you might be able to hear and be woken up by any one of your cousins coming near the mice. Other than that, it seems like you are doing all that you can with the given circumstances.

Don't get a silent spinner, they're hardly silent. A flying saucer wheel is 100% silent and should do the trick. Ask your dad to try it out before you move them into the pantry? The pantry is a bizarre place for mice but it shouldn't be too bad.

Honestly, no wheel is 100% silent but some are noiser than others. I personally have had great luck with the Silent Spinner, just a soft whooshing noise. Flying saucers are great too.

Re: SO ANNOYED
Where was the cage before in relation to where your dad sleeps?
I'm lucky enough to have my room all the way down at the end of a hallway, so my mice are barely audible to anyone else even when their wheel is scraping up against the glass while they run on it. As for me, I could probably sleep through a nuclear armageddon, so nothing my mice do is ever going to wake me up.

Re: SO ANNOYED
How often does this happen? How often do your cousins come over? The reason I ask, if it only happens like 4 nights a mouth... and they were my mice... I would just take out the wheel while i'm asleep and put it back in the morning (of course throw in extra toys). And see if your dad can sleep through level of noise. The rest of the month, they can live safely in the pantry with their wheel. The pantry is indeed a weird spot but I'm pretty sure one of our moderators had a mouse that lived on top of her refrigerator!
I'm not sure what wheel you are using now, but the quietest wheel is the flying saucer. The next best thing is the silent spinner. The problem with this wheel is that you can still hear is going round and round, but sometimes people have problems with the metal base rattling on the bottom of the cage. If you encounter that problems, we can help you troubleshoot that.

Re: SO ANNOYED
Oh my god my uncle went and brought my cousins back home and thankfully the 14 year old has his computer and PlayStation so doesn't care about my mice but the 6 year old shrieks with excitement in the room next door as she always play fights with her dad and brother and NO ONE in this house seems to understand that my poor babies have sensitive ears
