Tremors, paralyzation, seizures?

Post by Rhylans Animals on Thu Feb 09, 2017 9:51 pm

Okay, science I've found such a good community i want to try and see if anyone else has had mice that have suffered from the things all 3 of my mice did. The fish one died suddenly after having a sezure that broke her back, her sister then got a hotspot which with cream from the vet healed really well (I do know this was caused by her food) but she became very wobbly and eventually paralyzed in her waist down I have to clean her and give her warm towels that were in the dryer EVERY other hour. She then started devolving tremors and about a month later passed after a sezure collapsed a lung. Also to make things worse I only had her for 8 months and her sister 4? And my last mouse who I lost only 3 weeks ago died from the same thing and Cruiser (the one with tremors) but this was the same thing wobblyness tremors but she died in 1 night and we were unable to get to the vet??? The bets and my family are completely stumped and we cannot find a cause so I was curios to know if someone has had similar thing happen to their mice I searched in Google, YouTube and a different forum but nothing? Also the last mouse WAS NOT related to the first two FYI! Yet she died from the same thing?

Were these mice related? The most likely reason all three mice would have the same thing wrong would be because of genetics or an environmental toxin like pesticides or something.

Also, I'm very sorry for your loss. I've had mice with seizures and strokes before and its very hard to watch.

And how old were they? Were they young when you adopted them? The reason I ask is that I have had several mice die quite awful like that. Mice are just bred so poorly that they often get very sick before they die. So it could have been coincidence. But if they were young, you might want to evaluate the environment they lived in for any toxins.

The 'paralyzed from the waist down' sort of deal happens somewhat often in elderly mice, but it's admittedly odd to see it in a young mouse. Otherwise, I've not heard of any of these symptoms before.
