Very sick mouse
Hello,
I have a mouse who is very ill. She makes an unhealthy, ticking noise when she breathes. Yesterday everything seemed fine, today however she isn't eating or drinking. She was very cold so I immediately separated her from the others and kept her warm all day. But she isn't doing any better. I doubt if she will get trough the night but she's warm, has food and water. Is there anything more I can do myself to make things better? I will go to the vet, but due to school tomorrow, she'll have to wait... I've had her for a year now and she's never been sick before.
Thanks!

Poor mousie! Keeping her warm is very important and so is hydration.
Is she very lethargic or is she still getting up to do things? If you have a humidifier, go ahead and run it near her tank. You said she's not eating or drinking. Have you tried holding the water spout up to her mouth? You can also try feeding her special treats like olive oil on toast or any other things you know she loves.
And if you think she really needs it, you can try giving her water in a syringe. And better yet, if you can get your hands in KMR kitten milk replacement (mixed 50/50 with water) you can offer that to her in a dish or by oral syringe.
Good luck, let us know how it goes..

Thank you! I will do that. She isn't drinking so I will take your advice and just try to make her drink. She isn't very active either, but sometimes she washes herself and tries to climb.
I will let you know how it goes!

Went to the vet and she has a severe cold. Got antibiotics for 10 days, then she should feel better. The vet said she's not in life danger, but should be kept warm and looked after!

I'm so glad to hear it! You did a great job taking care of her until you got her to the vet
