No interest in her wheel! Advice?
My little mouse Bird has always had access to a wheel since I've taken her home but has showed little interest other than nesting underneath it. When she was a baby and growing up she did not have a wheel due to her being raised as a feeder mouse.
I've tried solid and mesh, small and medium sized wheels and she just doesn't run. I'm worried she has a lot of excess energy and may grow bored or agitated by not running. Anyone else had any experiences like this before? Any advice?
(Also for anyone who's following my posts, I'm still waiting on the other female I'm supposed to get for a companion for Bird

How long have wheels been in with her? She should figure it out eventually. It may also be that you are just not seeing her run. A lot of my girls immediately stop running on the wheel and pretend they weren't doing anything as soon as I walk in the room
Try putting in a mesh wheel and a saucer wheel if you can get one, maybe she prefers one over the other. Saucer wheels have very unique and different designs compared to most wheels. I have 2 girls (Lilac and Blossom) who are obsessed with the saucer wheel, but aren't huge fans of other wheels.

I've had her for about a month now and I first got her when she was close to 3 weeks old (i had to supplement kmr for the first couple of weeks along with beginning solid food).
The saucer wheel might actually be a good bet! I'll give it a shot! And maybe when I get the other female and she finishes quarantine, the introduction of another female who will (hopefully) run on a wheel may spark Birds interest. Thank you!
