2 mice or 3? Empty 2 mice or 3?

Post by Yassssssss Sat 01 Jul 2017, 4:41 pm

I'm looking into getting some mice, and have been doing some research. I've seen a variety of different opinions on whether to get 2 or 3 mice, and I don't know which would be better. I was wondering of the pros and cons of having 2 or 3 mice.

At least 3 females in a group is best because it adds balance and if one suddenly passes you won't be left with one lone, depressed gal. Balance meaning the more submissive girls won't be taking the brunt of the dominant gal's attention since there'll be more than one of them to balance it out. Of course there's always exceptions to this rule, but for the most part it holds true.

Boy mice should live alone.

3 is the magic number! Like callalily said, if one were to pass, then the other two wouldn't be lonely. I believe It's about the same effort to care for 3 instead of 2 as well.
