Daily routine
I am the worlds worst worrier and I am questioning everything I'm doing for my girls at the moment. I would be really interested and grateful to read others daily routines with their mice? Do you have a set time you feed them and interact with them? How long does it take you to spot clean? Sorry for lots of probably silly questions

Re: Daily routine
I don't spot clean, honestly, I just clean everything out weekly and their tanks stay pretty clean. I just interact with them every night when everyone is awake. I watch them play, eat, and explore, make sure they have food, refill the water, and interact with them. My girls only get handled daily if they want to be, I have one girl in particular who loves to be handled every single day, but some of my other girls don't like being handled much. I check on them every morning and just make sure everyone is ok as well, then sometimes I also do so throughout the day if I can.
Re: Daily routine
I don't have set times but I check on my girls a few times a day. Usually in the morning and evening for sure, and then any other time I go near the tank I peek in. Wash and refill the food dish and water bottle as needed, wash the wheel as needed, interact with them when they're out. I try to do at least one out-of-tank play session with them daily, but I admit there are days where it just doesn't fit in. Weekly full cleans.

Re: Daily routine
I check on Mickey several times a day. I keep his tank in the living room, where I spend most of my time. I don't spot clean, but I will clean his wheel in between tank cleanings if it needs it. I keep his food bowl full as well as give him treats each evening. I change his water about every other day. If Mickey wants to come out I will have him out to climb on me while I watch TV. Sometimes he doesn't really want to come out but he seems to want me to just keep my hand in his tank and talk to him
This morning he had a little bit of scrambled egg - he liked that.

Re: Daily routine
I usually check on my mice when I wake up, then feed them at about 2:00 or 3:00 PM. I interact with them before I go to bed, for about half an hour or so. I don't spot clean either, but I do like that idea.

Re: Daily routine
Thank you that's really helpful:) I think I may have been over doing the cleaning. I put the girls in their plastic tank every evening then I change their water check their food bowl, sweep off their shelf and move all their toys so I can clean the wheels if ness and pick out poos and any damp litter. I also gently take their nests apart removing any soiled nesting material but even when I do the weekly clean I always leave a bit of the old nest in whichever area/box their using so it smells familiar. When I do my weekly clean I remove all their substrate I'm now wondering if it would be better to mix the new with a bit of clean, dry old? I don't handle my girls much as I'm taking bonding very slowly but they all come up to the little doors at the side of their cage to see me when they feel like it and will climb out to sit on my hand and eat treats. When I put my hand in their plastic tank or cage they will come and explore and sniff me and hold my fingers and sometimes nibble my nails. They have a 1 metre by half by half cage ( sorry hopeless with feet and inches!) in their plastic tank they have a massive rat wheel that they love and a seesaw tunnel that they don't ever have in their cage and I put deeper substrate in so they can do lots of digging. I usually check in on them in the morning to check they have food and water and then I spot clean and spend time with them in the evenings anytime from 8 pm to 11 pm ( sometimes it is 8-11pm!) I have them in my spare room as I worried my living room would be too drafty and also noisy with wifi and tv and phone all humming away plus I look after a dog sometimes and I don't want her to frighten them. When I get my house sorted, they'll be in my bedroom as I love hearing them at night:) my friend says I over think everything I'm starting to think she may be right..

Re: Daily routine
It sounds like you're doing just fine. You don't have to stress about picking out all the poos everyday, but removing any wet bedding isn't a bad thing. Fresh water daily is perfect. I tend to go every couple days with changing it but I know daily is best. When I do weekly clean I replace all bedding. Some of their toys will still hold their smell though. Leaving their nest is ok if it's not dirty.
