Re: temperature
Ahh, sorry xD I pleaded with my landlord. I honestly don't mind too much. It is the winter that gets to me more than the heat. My whole spare room is filled with ( mice ) and heaters / air cons. But when it is that hot nothing but a proper system really makes a difference.
I love this apartment so put up with the temperatures and all its flaws

Everyone is different. I also don't mind life without an air conditioner. It is about 78 in my apartment right now and it feels really comfortable to me. Air conditioners are expensive and drive up the price of already expensive electricity. I open the windows, plug in a fan, or deal with it.

Re: temperature
What about an old coffee can stuck in the fridge? That's safe, right ? no sharp edges. I went to wal mart and they didn't have any pots, I was amazed, and I got home and it's 83 in the apartment. So I could do the coffee cans...

Re: temperature
Plastic bottles with water inside and shoved in the freezer works for me in a pinch. The smaller the better! The last thing you want is for the mice to chew a hole in the bottle and have the melted ice flood the tank
I always worry about over whelming their space with ice and cool stuff. My go to solution is to stick a frozen freezer block ( the kind you would put in your lunch box to keep things cool ) on the outside of the tank. This gives them the opportunity to lie up against the cooler glass. But also lets them walk away if things get too cold. I have heaps of photos of my guys laying flat out against the glass that have ice against them. <3
