The short story of the mice in the sink!
So, at about 8:00, my dad knocked on my bedroom door. I opened up, and he asked me if I wanted to see a wild mouse. I followed him to our laundry room, where he pointed to the sink. Inside were two gray and white bellied wild mice. They were about a quarter of the size of baby pet shop mice. The mice had thin little tails, white paws, and big eyes. They were jumping up and down, trying to get out. I suppose they crawled in looking for food, and couldn't get out. We took a tall bucket and laid in on its side in the sink, and they scampered in rather quickly. I ran upstairs to get my shoes, and I also grabbed a veggie to leave where we released them. I dropped it in so they would know it existed, and they sniffed it diplomatically. They didn't jump around much, I guess they were more comfortable. We carried them into the woods behind our house, and tipped the bucket over. They were very cautious about leaving the bucket, but they eventually hopped out. One of the mice crawled right up to me, and was centimeters from my foot!
I left the veggie where we set them free, and left them to get settled in their own mousey way.
Sadly I did not get any pictures. I believe they were white-footed deer mice, however. They looked just like this:

@AnonymousMouseOwner Wild mice are definitely cuter than domestic mice.
I'm so glad I got to help them.
@CallaLily It was the most amazing experience ever, I'm so happy.
