Meet my mice!
Hello. So I will start with the back story. It's long, sorry.
I am a preschool teacher. We originally got mice as class pets in my pre-kinder classroom (4 to 5 year olds). We knew that we as teachers would ultimately be responsible for their well-being (not the kids), but the kids learned alot along the way. We got two mice. When they were brought in we placed them in a dark area of the classroom, letting them acclimate to their cage, the new sounds, etc, only disturbing to fill food and water, spot clean, etc.
After a while they were moved into a permanent spot where the students could watch, interact, etc (supervised!). At the time they were in two crittertrail cages connected (I didn't know bettercat the time -they now have a 20 gallon long tank). The mice would come to the bars to greet everyone every morning!
The students named the two girls Minnie and Benny.
Minnie ended up having a heart defect, and she crossed over the rainbow bridge. We got two new mice and they joined Benny. The kids named them Barney agd Lola.
Fast forward a few montgsvand I resigned from my position, and I took the mice when I left. They now live at my house with me.

Lola peeking out from the house. She's a tiny girl, definitely the runt of her litter.

Barney enjoying some millet. That lid was originally on with just an entry hole. She quickly tossed that aside. Lol. Barney is the most food-motivated mouse of the 3. As soon as any new food is in there, she is at it.

And Benny. She is the oldest of the 3, at least 14 months old, but still very active.
