One short wall of my mouse cage is against an exterior wall that gets very cold in winter ( so cold you need a duvet and blanket in the summer when your beds next to it). Due to my room, I cannot move my mouse cage anywhere else. Luckily my mice nest at the other end, but I don’t want them hiding there all winter. How could I insulate against that wall without editing my house? The wall isn’t your typical wall either so I can’t just add insulating foam or anything.

How about hang a quilt or a thick blanket on the wall?
