Hello hello!
Edit: Well, say hello again to my newest girl, Checkers! I, uh, oopsed again at the pet store. She's so sweet, though, and I wanted to have a trio just in case anything happened between Yahtzee and Trouble or if one would pass early...
Hello~ I'm new to this forum, obviously, so I figured I would introduce myself (and, more importantly, my girls)!
I'm 21 (will be 22 in December), female (she/her pronouns, they/them is fine too!), panromantic, autistic, and overall a huge animal nerd. I'm from Pennsylvania, but recently (sort of accidentally) moved to Texas. I'm going to school for Animal Behavior but I'm taking a break due to life events; I'm currently working retail. I also write, and hope to be published one day! You can find me on twitter, tumblr, and all the usual social media haunts, feel free to message me more if you'd like to chat offsite. But enough of the boring stuff- time for the girls!
I currently have two mice, a white and gold silk doe, Trouble, and an agouti doe, Yahtzee. (Full names Trouble Perfection and Yahtzee Monopoly
)They were sisters, brought home as an impulse buy from PetSmart (I know... not the best option...
) this June. They live in a homemade tub/bin cage, volume comparable to a 10g aquarium (I made sure to do the math!), on Carefresh bedding, and are eating Oxbow Royal Rat food (alongside fruits and veggies and other nice treats).
Here is my full photo gallery of the girls!

Trouble was the girl who got my attention, and she's my sweet, beautiful twirly girl. We were at PetSmart for something, and a flipped over food bowl started moving... I was worried she was trapped under there, so I had an employee free her... and I was in love. Absolutely enamored by the pretty girl, and I had to take her home. Despite her name, she's actually the least mischievous of the two! She's very sweet and friendly, and a quiet little girl.
She's also a waltzing mouse, and I'm taking care to make sure all of her needs are met. I'm happy to report that as far as I can tell, she's perfectly happy and able to eat, drink, groom, etc as normal!

Yahtzee is the real trouble-maker of the pair (sometimes I think she pushed Trouble under that bowl in the store), and she's the more active girl, as well. She's a bit more skittish and is on the move all night long usually. She loves running on their wheels! She's a sweetie too, but not quite as cuddly as Trouble.

She's so, so sweet, already the cuddliest of the trio! She just lays on my shoulder or in my chest or hair and snuggles in, such a friendly little girly. She also likes to dig... she doesn't like the way I decorate, apparently, and has to redecorate to her own tastes at night, it seems.
All in all, love my girls! <3
I also live with: Gremlin, Zombie, and [currently unnamed] (fancy rats), Denver (Pyrenees mix), Kaspar (Chihuahua), Tabasco and Rocket (cockatiels), and Evie (budgie parakeet), who all belong to my roommates!

Re: Hello hello!
Welcome! Trouble is gorgeous and her coat is so shiny! Yahtzee is beautiful with really nice markings. I can sure see how you fell in love with both of them

Re: Hello hello!
Also, if anyone is interested, here's the bin cage that I made for the girls:

It's not there current set up, but I think this picture is one of the better ones for showing the whole thing. Feel free to offer suggestions for new improvements/additions!
And a cage/setup album is here!
also thank you Rodents rock! for the welcome and the lovely compliments of my girls!

Re: Hello hello!
Ooh, I love the bird.
My step-dad's mom has a porch full of birds that she's rehoming because they're getting to be too much work for her. One is Magoo, he's a blabber! I wish I could nab one. lol

If you want a bird, feel free to take one of these. Or three of them.
...I'm joking, but only because they're my roommates and they would be very upset if their birds disappeared. I wouldn't mind the lack of screaming, though.

But yeah birds really are a lot of work... I'm glad she's rehoming them though, rather than just not taking care of them. Hopefully she'll be able to keep one or a pair of them?

Re: Hello hello!
@Peachy I hope she's able to find them all good homes! Parrots need a lot of work- they're the equivalent of a 2-year-old human child, but they stay that way for 30-60 years... I'd love a big parrot one day, but I'm not sure if I'll ever really be up for it.
But yeah, good luck to her with rehoming her birdies! ...I'm pretty content sticking to mice for right now.
