How can you tell how old your mice are?
Hi guys. I just got my mice today but I don't know how long they were at the pet store before. How can I know how old they are? Thanks!

How small or large are they? It's easy to tell if they are around 4-6 weeks depending on the size, I've found. You can weigh them on a gram scale. Of course, some mice are naturally tiny their whole lives, but most tiny mice are just young. If your mice were really old, they would be showing signs of aging, while most young mice would be energetic and fast, so that's a way to tell too.
Did you get your mice from a chain pet store? If so, these stores often have a certain age limit on mice that can be sold, so you can ask the store what their limit is.
