Tapeworm
So, two of my mice have tapeworm. The vet has given me Panacur to administer to them, but I have been trying for two days with no luck! How in the hell am I meant to get this stuff into them? I tried scruffing them last night, but it was awful. I can't do it, and I really don't want to hurt them/stress them out! Has anyone got any advice? Can I mix it with food? My biggest concern is that they won't get the correct amount if I do.

Re: Tapeworm
Have you tried the burrito method with a dry, clean wash cloth? There's also the glove method shown in the health packet. https://www.petmousefanciers.com/t25-health-packet#34
I hope this helps. Dosing with food can be risky because they may not get the full dose in and some foods shouldn't be mixed with certain medicines (dairy and baytril, for example).

Can you have your vet show you how to scruff and administer? They do it so easily, it's like a miracle.
Another not ideal option would be putting the medicine on their fur for them to groom off. A bit risky with mice living together, though.

I second having your vet show you. When I took Autumn to the vet for a URI, they prescribed Baytril, and the vet showed me how to give her the medicine. They did it so easily, didn't even scruff her. I'll admit I had some trouble giving her the medicine and had to have my dad help me with it, but it did get easier everyday. We used a sock, lol, and kind of wrapped her body in a sock (but not too tight, just lightly!) so that she could just poke her head out, and gave her the medicine that way, so she couldn't do much to resist the medicine. But as the days went by, she got used to the routine and got much more cooperative.
