second level in tank

Post by Rodents rock! on Mon 05 Feb 2018, 7:54 pm

Hi, I wanted to share a photo of Mickey's tank. I had ordered this thing from Amazon which would be used for organizing your kitchen cabinets, with levels. I thought it would be a good idea to put in a mouse tank for a second level. Mickey loves it!

Cool! It looks nice.
I like hearing about Mickey, and wish you'd mention/update us on him more often. Laughing Love
He's a big boy!! <3
Often I want a second level in my girls' tank, but then I think about it, and I feel like it'd be hard to get them out to hold them. And I like holding my Dani. =D

Thanks Blessed Very Happy

Actually Mickey will come right up the ladder and onto the second level if I go over to the tank, so no problem with getting him out. He's always ready for attention!

Looks good!
Piece of advice to anyone else who plans to do this, it's recommended that a level should maximum cover 1/3 of the tank or else will it worsen the airflow Smile

Great idea! Looks nice too. I have a wooden platform and of course make cardboard ones - but this one you have here looks easy to clean. Much nicer than having to chuck them after a while. Thumbs Up

Ooh, nice! I've never wanted to get a second level like that for my girls' tanks, since it seems like it would just take up space, but it's nice to see others making use of them.

What fun, and it looks pretty good in there too!

The shelf organizer is a good idea. I once made a shelf out of a 10 gallon lid in one of my larger aquariums. The girls spent a lot of time up there, but it didn't look very pretty. lol

Thank you, good to know. Very Happy This level is actually triangle shape because it's for the corner of a cabinet, not sure if that is very evident in the photo. So in this case, there is plenty of air flow.

Thanks Very Happy Actually I got it to give Mickey more space. It opens up the bottom of the tank as it keeps his food dish, water dish, and one of his houses up there, where normally they would be on the bottom.

Thanks Very Happy I searched online a long time to find something I thought would work. I'm really happy with it and I believe Mickey is too.
