Sneezes
Hello! Recently I have been worried about the health of one of my mice.
A few weeks ago, I noticed one of my mice was sneezing a lot. After getting her antibiotics and realizing the cause may have been allergies instead, I switched their bedding from carefresh paper bedding to kaytee clean and cozy paper bedding. The sneezing then stopped!!
But then, a few days ago my other mouse started to make these strange chatter noises. Like I can't tell if it's a breathing problem or a weird vocalization because she usually only does it when she gets irritated (getting woken up in the morning for example) but now she's started sneezing! She's showing no other signs of illness; eating and drinking normal, active as normal, fur looks good, etc. I have no idea what's going on!

Re: Sneezes
After stalking around for a bit and watching a few videos, I have decided the weird sounds are her being chatty because they stop after a short time. But the sneezing is still a big concern. I should also add that I have given her a few doses of the antibiotic to be safe

Re: Sneezes
I hope she feels better! Your chattering mouse seems adorable!
Maybe the sneezing cases with your two mice aren’t actually related and your chatty mouse just has a cold, while your other mouse has an allergy like you suspected. I’ve actually had that happen before with my gerbils. I wouldn’t be concerned as long as she is breathing ok, isn’t lathargic, and continues to eat and drink! If she just has a cold, her immune system will handle it in no time!

Re: Sneezes
You know, one of my mice, Irene, acted like she had a URI at one point, but she seems fine now. I never knew what was wrong; perhaps she was just being chatty, too?
I just wasn't sure on that, as I'd read it's unusual for mice to just be making a lot of noises.
In any case, I agree with tkf; I hope she feels better, if something is wrong.
