Should I get more mice?
So I have a bin cage and I adopted 2 mice from someone who had them as pets then I bought 2 more from a breeder. The bonding process did not go very smooth but as of now I have 1 of the mice that I adopted in with the mice I bought (in a 470 sq inch bing) and the other adopted mouse is in a separate cage because she is mean.
Every other day or so I will take all 4 mice and put them in a big cleaned out bin to socialize the mean one (and supervise them) and then separate them when she starts getting bitey. Its weird because she got along with her 'sister' I adopted her with until I got the 2 new ones that her sister babies and protects. Now they 'box' at each other and the mean one nips at the other.
My question is should I buy the new ones litter mates? The breeder still has a few of their sisters. I have room in the bin and I am sure they would get along being litter mates and all. Im iffy because I do want the mean one to eventually go into the main cage. Then of course on the other hand I know that if I don't buy their litter mates they will end up beign sold as feeder and snake food.
I guess I am just trying to weight my options... Maybe I'll buy the litter mates for the main cage and feed the mean mouse to my snake. JK he only eats medium rats.

Re: Should I get more mice?
It really is up to you. The female sounds territorial and it seems that she is attempting to assert dominance. The new ones do have friends but if you want to then you could buy the others and see how the female reacts with a larger group. The adopted females were most probably bonded and introducing other mice might have upset her. Just give it time and in a bigger group she might get along better. She may not but if you are thinking of getting the others anyway it is worth a try! Good luck
