Female mouse wanted- north island NZ
Short version:
1 female mouse wanted in north island NZ, Auckland or near; preferably not black, white, or a black and white combination
Long version:
I recently got my first mice, ( they shall be introduced in due time :3) but I had wanted to get 3 however I was only able to take 2 and now I’m looking for there future sister to bring home! I want to get my third girly as soon as possible I order to kind of integrate her into her new home before my current pair get too set in there ways ( I got them less than a week ago). I don’t know really how important the timing of introducing a new mouse to a group is but I definitely don’t want to be waiting forever and since I don’t know exactly how old my current girls are I want to them to still be “young” I guess... anyway, I digress...
I live in Auckland so I’m wanting a mouse bearish to me, but I’d be willing to take a road trip to other places in the north island if need be. I’d LOVE a ‘ginger haired’ girl: cinnamon, agouti, red, orange, fawn etc. I don’t really want a black or white coloured mouse as my current 2 are both black broken marked so any actual colour is preferable.
If anyone has any new litters or know of or have seen any places with female mice currently please let me know, I’d appreciate any help
! Plus the sooner I get number 3 the sooner I can introduce them to the world

Re: Female mouse wanted- north island NZ
helloo, I live in Auckland too, and I understand the struggle of finding mice that aren't from pet stores haha. try having a look on facebook as I know there are quite a few good facebook groups/people who have mice looking for homes. (one I know in particular is Gems marvelous mice)
one other thing I would like to mention is that when you get the third mouse you will need to keep them separate for at the very very minimum for a week (longer is better) to make sure none of them are sick or pregnant or anything. I believe there are a few threads here on this forum about bonding mice too.

Re: Female mouse wanted- north island NZ
Thanks for the advice
I think gem is going to be my best route- I’ve investigated her miceys a little before after one of her posts on here but I think I’ll have another closer look. I’ll be sure to extra careful, I definitely don’t want to rush things despite my want to get a third mouse as soon as possible
it does mean I’m prepared though- I already have her quarantine/ transition enclosure ready to go , I’m just so excited but I want to do right by my babies
