Swollen Face
Checkers had a squinty eye a few months ago, we took her to the vet and got eye drops. This was the same time Trouble died, so before I lost my job. She'd been doing better, recently the squinting and some discharge came back, and as I haven't had income I've been holding off taking her back to the vet. But today I checked on her and all of a sudden the entire side of her face is swollen, and both eyes were squinting and discharging.
Obviously she needs to go to the vet, but the local exotics vets are all not in today; do you guys think this is serious enough to need to go an hour out tonight? Or can I wait until 2 pm tomorrow? (or tomorrow morning, if I drop her off at a different place, but I don't like that vet as much so if 2pm seems safe I'd rather go there.)
Please let me know, I'm very worried. I'm shocked this happened so suddenly.

Re: Swollen Face
Update: We did end up taking her to the emergency vet last night, I don't know if it was really necessary but it put my mind at ease somewhat, since I was worried she wouldn't make it through the night.
The vet isn't 100% sure what the issue is; she said she thinks there is some bleeding in or behind her eye, and obviously it's inflamed, but she said that it could either be an infection or a tumor.
She sent us home with some antibiotics and anti-inflammatory medicine, so I'm hoping with all my heart that the medicines work and she'll be back to normal soon.
Any advice/opinions/info is still appreciated; let me know what you guys think.
Will edit this a bit later with pictures

Re: Swollen Face
I’m glad you were able to get her into the vet. How’s she doing now?

Re: Swollen Face
@CallaLily The swelling is going down some, so that's good! And she never seemed lethargic or anything, she's been acting fine. I'm still worried she's going to lose her eye.
I just can't afford surgery if it comes to it, so I'm praying it doesn't.

Re: Swollen Face
Oh, this is rather late, but an update: Checkers is doing well! We had a bit of a scare while I was away with family, but thankfully my roommates were on top of things, and were able to nurse her back to health while I was gone. She's doing much better now! She no longer has the use of her one eye, but other than that she's back to her old self!
