Old mice - My care advice - and can you help me?

Post by PrestigePetsMouseLOVR on Tue 31 Jul 2018, 8:34 pm

Few tips first :
Keep them very warm, provide preripped tissue etc.
DONT change the arrangement of the cage, since if their eyesight is failing they can remember it.
Maybe provide steps to make life easier, and remove high climbing frames etc.
Maybe you need to offer soft (safe) food. I recommend baby food (low sugar etc) and porridge to help give them a soft food. Adding warm water to the pellets also makes a mush.
Doubly make sure you wash you hands, and dont touch them if youre sick.
Check them often.

HELP ME!
I couldnt find how to just ask a question since I am A) a techno tard and B) new here. My mouse, (who has lost both her sisters) is 2 years and 8 months old. She is blind/almost blind in at least on eye , and her fur is all poofed up. I recently had to go on a family holiday (im only 14) and she was left with my friend who looked after her very well. But she has burnt looking marks on her ears. I wondered maybe frostbite since it got very cold but I dont know. It doesnt seem to be bothering her to much however. Please help!

Um. Not sure how to do that sorry. The tips just look kinda blackened and charred. I thought ammonia burns? it got to maybe 10 degrees celcius or a little below.

That’s what’s....50F? That is too cold for comfort but I don’t think cold enough for frostbite. Has she been scratching at them at all? Are they crusty looking/feeling? I’m not sure I have any answers. Contacting a vet may be your best bet. The link explaining how to share pics is in my post above.
