Greetings From a New Member!
Hello! I'm new on these forums and figured I'd introduce myself. My name is Lizardian and I moseyed my way over to this forum because I wanted a place to talk about my mousies and show off their pictures. I love ALL animals and currently have 5 cats, 2 geckos, a roach colony, and most recently, 2 mice.
So how did I end up with my mice? Well... I actually volunteer at a Raptor Rehabilitation center, and they breed feeder mice for young birds to learn how to hunt prior to re-releasing them into the wild. The feeder mice are your typical feeder setup, overcrowded mice in cages with a lot of inbreeding. One day, I bonded with one of the baby mice and after a few weeks they let me take him home. He was a little gray and white mouse whom I named Gimpy because he had a messed up leg. A week later I also brought home a brown mouse named Chirpy.
Unfortunately, feeder mice do not live for long and after a few months they passed away due to what I assume were some genetic problems & tumors. After they passed away I didn't think I would take any more, but of course a few days ago I ended up becoming attached to a couple more males. So now I have a gray and white speckled mouse named Spelunker and a black and white mouse named Feldspar (Or just 'Fel'). All of the mice I've "saved" have the best personalities and seem so grateful for a home with tons of enrichment & treats.
So that's my story. Nice to meet everyone!
