Bug bites?
Hi,
Is it possible that a mouse can be bitten by a mosquito (or similar bug) and have the same inflammatory reaction as humans do (raised itchy lump?)
Schmee has a lump above his ear which is either very itchy or very uncomfortable as he scratches at it constantly. I have a house-call vet coming to see him. I am concerned it's a tumor, but with all the itching (and how all of a sudden it appeared) I am wondering (hoping) maybe it's something simple like a bug bite? Regardless, I want to find something safe to use to relieve the itching and keep him from creating an open wound there, too....

Re: Bug bites?
Tumors are usually in the lower body, but it isn't impossible for it to be a bug bite. Good luck..

It may be an abscess. Let us know what the vet thinks.
