Rosemary Extract - Safe?
Rosemary Extract - Safe?
My roommate found a bag of diced walnuts on clearance and picked them up, since they know that the girls (Checkers especially!) love walnuts. The only ingredient other than the walnuts themselves is rosemary extract; the packaging says: "rosemary extract is flavorless, for freshness". I can't find info one way or the other about rosemary, so I wanted to be sure it's okay before using these walnuts in their mix.

Oh I LOVE rosemary. I wouldn't hesitate to give these walnuts to my mice.
My guinea pig quite liked fresh rosemary, but it's got a lot of calcium. As an extract I wouldn't worry about it at all.

Yep. Not alone of course, but in this way yes. It’s safe. As I understand it, it’s used in foods as a natural preservative.
