Bucks at the Pet Store
I was browsing around my local pet shop today (they usually only have feeders unless rescues are brought in) when I noticed they had a 10 gallon tank with all young fancy bucks (I think they were all bucks, the one I was interested in was for sure) for $4 each. I've never had a buck before, but I just really fell in love with the little solid yellow one they had. He got off the wheel and came right over to me, I like to think to say hello, and then when to go sleep with one of the little black mice. Here are a few pictures from when I was there:

They also had this giant rat for adoption, he seemed very friendly.

I resisted the urge at the time but what do you guys think? Should I go back there and scoop one up?

It sounds like he'd like a good home, that yellow boy that said hello. Boys can be sooo much fun, so I vote do it!

Boys are the best. Full disclosure, they have a stronger rodent smell, which surprises some people. But it's not bad, we all seem to be fond of it. Those pictures are great, what handsome gentleman!
Get him, bring him home, and love him!

Boys seem to come around much much faster and be more easily handled.
They also require more attention as they live alone and get bored easier but can also be far more bitey before they do come around. Every bitey boy i have had though, was putty in my hands not too long after being a bitey terror so it's really no worries there i think. I have never had an actual bad one for very long.

I'm still a little hesitant to say "when" CP, but I sure wish I could!
Rescued small animals go pretty fast, and I need to find a few more necessities if I before I can snatch him up! Hopefully even if he's not there anymore by the time I'm ready I can find another buck nearby that needs a good home!
