Is Tea tree cream safe on mice?
1 of my mice (about 4 months old) called ‘Lenno’ has skin problems almost her hole life. It began with balt circles around her eyes and when hair grew back it stabilised for a while till the baltness moved to the rest of her face, above the eyes and between eyes and ears. It looks like she is wearing classes actually. She is scratching pretty often. I treated her with Ivermectine at least 4 times and it even got worse a few days after the last treatmebt: the skin, only on the balt arias suddenly turned from normal pink to dark, swolen en flaky. I thought: naybe it is a fungal infection, but i red that itching and scratching then is unusual. It doesn’t look like mange mite neither. So i thought: maybe she has an allergy?? I want to give her something that will help for the itching and i purchached ‘ tea tree cream from ‘ Jean Peau’ on advice of thecpetstore. But i don’t know if it’s safe to use on mice? I need to use it even near her eyes and it smells pretty strong. Dies anybody know if it’s safe on mice? If not: what else can i try on her skin?

I'm not sure if that's safe for mice or not - I would guess no, but I don't know for sure.
If she does have an allergy, she could be allergic to something in her food or her enclosure. Some common allergens are: peanuts, sunflower seeds, and certain wood/paper beddings. You can try removing things from her environment one at a time and seeing if/when she improves to try to find out what she's allergic to.

Re: Is Tea tree cream safe on mice?
I remember a few years back I tried to treat a mouse with skin issues (who it turned out had mites) with diluted tea tree oil. I later did my research and got her to a vet, but after looking up the oil I found out that some people use it to keep mice out of their home, and they say mice hate the smell. It's strong stuff and I don't see how you could dilute a cream, so I'd head to a vet. Good luck

Re: Is Tea tree cream safe on mice?
Hi both, thanks for replies! I returned the tee tree cream to the petstore. Indeed the smell is overwelming and it’s too controversial to try.
I just figured out that mice could have different coloured skin (patches) than the colour of their fur. Since Lenno is losing hair on her face, it’s possible that her dark skin patches become visible, when i look on photos from sometime ago: it shows those patches looked like shadows uder her fur. Thought it is not normail she’s losing fur. But it actually grows back and she is scratching less. So maybe it did was an allergic reaction. Lately i gave them fresh spinach leaves a few days a weak during a month, wich i never did before. I also gave them (instead of paper) pieces if old clothes to sleep on. It’s washed and made of cotton and polyester. Lenno also has hairloss at the undersite of the body, wich could caused by beddinallergy, couldn’t it? I stopped with everything, replaced the hemp bedding. it seems to get better. And if not i will visit a pet indeed.
