How long does it take for an eye infection to heal? Empty How long does it take for an eye infection to heal?

So if you've seen any of my previous posts you'll know my situation- I rescued some new ASFs and then promptly went to a vet. It was a clinic that apparently has experience with exotics. I had never been there before as my original vet just retired. I feel that I completely wasted my money, but maybe I'm just used to my other vet. He always tried something rather than just saying "wait and see if it gets worse" instead of actually treating the problem while it's small.

Anyways, one of the new girls seems to have an infected eye, which is part of the reason I took her in. The vet told me it seemed to be healing by itself and should be fine soon. But now it's been over ten days with no improvement. I have no idea how long it should take and that girl came pregnant and is due in a week and a half- if the eye doesn't heal I don't want to be messing with her shortly after/while she just had pups. She is quite weak and old as well so I'm not sure what she can handle. I will go to another vet if is gets visibly worse of course.

So how long did it take to heal in your mouse's case/do you think I should be taking her to another vet? I can try to get a photo but it is difficult and I'm not sure it would help. Thanks for any help Smile

Personally, I would look for another vet... even with treatment, Checkers' eye never healed correctly, they're sensitive organs and he should have at least sent you home with eye drops or something of that ilk.
