Eye half closed all the time? Empty Eye half closed all the time?

Post by FairyMouse Sat 13 Apr 2019, 7:32 pm

I have a female mouse who's always had one eye half closed since I got her at the beginning of February. It's never seemed red or irritated or infected, and I've tried to probe at it with a q-tip and some saline solution. It didn't help or make it worse. She doesn't scratch at it at all or seem bothered by it, and I'm wondering if the lid was partially damaged when she was a baby or something? The affected eye looks just fine, has a healthy shine to it, it's just this permanently half closed lid that just has me wondering if anyone else has experienced this before? It's remained the same since I got her and doesn't seem to bother her but I was just wondering if anyone has any insight on it? Confused

I haven't experienced anything like that, but if it's not irritated or having any discharge and isn't affecting her quality of life, I wouldn't worry about it, honestly! Mice don't rely very much on vision anyway, so if she seems healthy and happy I'd be willing to bet that she's doing alright! Smile
