Rodents rock - that is sooo cute
I love their names... They're perfect as Pup is Pip's baby. My mouse Honey immediately groomed Violet when they were introduced as well. I guess they must really miss that when they're lonely rodents.

Re: Pet shops???
There's a craigslist ad I just saw that was advertising a male mouse... The description said: "I feel bad for him because the friend I got for him tried to kill him." There was more too, but anyway, my point is that it's sad that more people don't know that male mice should live alone.
I would kill for that guy. Lol

Thanks MouseLover. Yea, when I adopted Pip from the Humane Society, he was already named. I thought the name was cute so I kept it. Then when I got the baby for him, I picked the name Pup since baby gerbils are called pups. I thought the two names together sounded even cuter, Pip & Pup!
Aww that is cute about Honey and Violet! Rodents are so cute when they groom each other.

That is really sad. Poor little guy. Now a days with the internet, it's so easy to research everything. I've had lots of different rodents, but Mickey is my first mouse. Before I got him, I researched mice online and that is where I learned that male mice should be kept alone, so I just got one

Re: Pet shops???
That's true. It's not actually that hard to find out how to take proper care of a mouse if you really wanted to. Sigh.

Re: Pet shops???
It is really easy to research your pet but there is also a lot of misinformation out there and varying opinions on what is right. So it's entirely possible they thought they were doing everything right, only to learn later that's not at all the case. Oftentimes people feel overwhelmed and choose to just rehome the pet rather than fix their care. I've seen this sooo many times over on the hermit crab forum. Not to say it's ok. Just that it happens. A lot.
