Hello! Meet Sean
Hey guys! You all can call me Az, or Liz. For a long time now I’ve been wanting a little rodent pet and decided that a mouse is the best choice for me! Well, yesterday (December 10, 2019), I got my little boy, Sean! He’s named after my favorite YouTuber (all of my pets have fandom themed names), and he has the same crazy energy of him! He’s a very sweet boy who loves to be out and explore. Right now, he has a wood chewable hide, and a couple of tubes to hide in. He’s already been caught eating and drinking, but hasn’t been seen chewing or playing yet.

Adorable little guy! Make sure he gets a running wheel that he fits in so he can exercise, and hold him every day. Clean his cage at least once a week so he doesn't get stinky!

Re: Hello! Meet Sean
Thank you! I’m gonna get him a wheel tomorrow for sure. Unfortunately I totally forgot to get one in my excitement, but he’ll have one by the weekend. He’s super sweet and cuddly, very much so like a little dog. I’m super strict on the cleanliness of my pets so might do twice weekly tbh thank you!

Sweet little PEW boy.
Something about white mice just make me melt!
Congrats on your new friend! You may find that cleaning too much makes him a little stinkier, though.

He really is so sweet! He loves to be handled it seems, and willingly walks into anyone’s hands. Me too! I love mice in general, but a little PEW just makes me melt! They’ve always been a dream pet of mine, and I’m so happy I have him!
Oh? How so? How often should I clean to keep the stink down then? He peed and pooped on me and I didn’t smell anything at all, nor did my dog, so I’m not TOO worried. Reading and doing research is very different than owning and talking to other owners!

Re: Hello! Meet Sean
Males tend to mark their territory, and cleaning too much will clean all his scent away so he’ll mark more. Spot cleaning through the week isn’t a bad idea and full changes should be done once a week, but many mouse-parents like to leave a toy that smells like him or sprinkle a small amount of the old bedding on top of the new bedding. This way it still smells like home and he doesn’t have to crazy “fixing” it. It might take human noses a bit to adjust, but smells are an inevitable part of pet ownership.

Re: Hello! Meet Sean
UPDATE!
Sean has received a bunch of new stuff! A wheel, some chews, toys, and treats! So far he’s loving exploring his new set up and is having a blast on the wheel! Thanks for the advice with it! It’s a solid wheel with no wire, and about an inch bigger than he is so he isn’t scrunched up.

Awesome! He sounds like he's having fun. I admire that you are learning more about an animal in order to provide the best care. That's what a good owner does!

Re: Hello! Meet Sean
Absolutely! I had done research beforehand and was talking to a good friend of mine, who helped me get the basics. I want nothing but the best for him and my other pets
