eyeball popping out
hello. so i took my mouse out to clean his bin and i found his left eyeball is bulging out, the same side where the vet thought he might have either an ear infection or mites, both of which he gave me medicine to treat. he had a head tilt and with the medicine his head tilt went away, but now his eye is an issue. there's very little on google to give me answers, but i did see trauma could be a cause? however, when i held him yesterday he was totally fine, so this must've happened between then and now. there's nothing very high up in his bin for him to fall off, and i inspected his toys and hides and there's no sharp edges that i could feel. he doesn't seem to be in pain and is behaving normally otherwise, but i know rodents hide their illnesses. has anybody else experienced something like this?
i'll be calling the vet first thing in the morning since they're not open today, and if anything i'll ask for pain killers because it doesn't look like this is comfortable for him. it doesn't seem normal for him to be having this many health issues when i've only had him for a year, if that

Re: eyeball popping out
update for anyone wondering; although the vet felt around his eye he said he didn’t feel a mass or anything abnormal other than the eyeball being the way it is now. he said maybe an abscess was behind his eye when he had the head tilt and burst which caused his eye to pop out, but his head tilt to go away. the vet said that the eyeball itself won’t hurt my mouse, but to keep an eye out for other behavioral changes. the vet was even able
to touch his eye without my mouse showing any pain at all! undoubtedly he’s going to lose vision in that eye, but he’s still eating, drinking, and jumping around his bin. the vet gave me artificial tears to keep the bulging eye moist so that it doesn’t get too dry and cause other problems. that’s my only struggle right now is to keep him still enough to moisten the area. and the vet advised me not to scruff him because doing so may cause more damage to the eye, so my course of action is to hold him until he’s comfort and still and quickly dabbing the eye gently with a gloved hand. wish us luck!
