Safe crafting supplies? Empty Safe crafting supplies?

Post by M O U S E on Thu 22 Oct 2020, 7:57 am

Hello! I've been feeling creative lately and want to make some new toys for my girls. I'm unsure about what is safe to use though.

1. What kinds of construction paper is safe? I have construction paper that has a smoothness to it.
2. What can I use to paint things? I know you can make your own paint from fruits and vegetables, but I don't really have the ability to do that right now. Any bird paint/mouse safe paint suggestions (preferably found at Target)? Are watercolors safe? Non toxic crayola markers for details or paint?
3. Are all kinds of carboard safe? Even things like cereal boxes and tissue boxes that have the smoothness to it and the dye?

Construction paper and cardboard is safe. Some people don’t use boxes that go in the freezer because of it’s resistance to get wet and soggy.

Food coloring is a great way to add some fun color to your mouse house!

Have fun!

Is any kind of food dye safe, and will it rub off onto them?
Thank you!

I’ve always just grabbed whatever coloring is in the baking aisle. I haven’t seen it rub off on mice once dry, but if it does it’s temporary and safe. Some people use food dye to put a spot of color on their white mice so they can tell who’s who!

Sharpies are a safe way to add small details.
