I'm glad you've taken them in and are sorting out the best care you can for them - but its so sad that the Dad would lie to his children about them! I hate the 'disposable pet' thing that seems to be going on at the moment. No pet is disposable like that!
Anyway...I'm still glad you've taken them in!
I think people have always had a thing about pets being disposable. I can't tell you how many times people are amazed that we actually keep our dog alive and give him medicine instead of putting him down.

The Kaytee critter trail we have has plastic bottom and top and the side are wire so it's good ventilation but about the same size as the 5 gallon tank. I have to keep one in there for now until I can get the 10 gallon tanks.

Re: New Here
Is that Podo in your profile picture? He looks quite the chubby guy! Cutie. Are they tame? I'll look forward to getting to know you and your boys.

Yes, that's Podo in my profile picture. Yes, they are pretty tame. I think the girls played with them a lot. Podo is a little calmer than Codo. Codo moves around a lot when I hold him. It's also very hard to get a good picture of him because he's always moving. But he's super cute. He's a little bigger than Podo too. They think he may be a little older than Podo because he was much bigger when they got them.

Re: New Here
Tell me when you do get a picture of Codo! My girls are both very active - as does tend to be - so I try to get pictures at the food bowl, or I just make gifs of them instead.
