Mice vs rats smell?

So, like, do female mice smell less or more than male rats? I know male mice smell more than male rats.

I have female rats, female mice, and a male mouse. In my personal experience my rats naturally smell a LOT more than my mice (I clean the cage regularly but mine aren’t too neat)! My male mouse doesn’t smell too bad at all in my opinion, I can really only smell him if I’m cleaning his cage. My females have a stronger scent but there’s 4 of them in one cage so I guess it makes sense, they smell a lot less than my rats though. I don’t know how stinky male rats are but hopefully this helps!

I think it depends, honestly. Now that my male mouse is settled in he doesn't smell. My girls smelled worse. Others have had different experiences, so I think it varies. Smile
