should i switch to apsen ?
ive been thinking about switching from a paper based bedding to a wood bedding and originally wanted to switch to hemp but i dont think theres any where i can buy any near me D: so i was wondering if it would be ok to use aspen anyway ? it would be kiln dried and dust extracted but im still iffy on the idea and wanted some input from other mouse ppl ?

I’d go to it, especially if you’re struggling with ammonia build up and stench! I used it before switching to hemp and while I definitely prefer hemp, aspen was fine, if a bit dusty.

I use some aspen, some paper bedding, and it seems to work well. The aspen isn't dusty at all.

Aspen is great as it's great at absorbing liquids, and helping with odor control. As River has mentioned, aspen bedding can be a bit dusty. The dust can irritate smaller rodents like mice, so I mix the aspen bedding I get with some paper pellets or shredded paper.
These are some of the best types of bedding. There is also lists of bedding that should be avoided for your pet mice.
