My doe is in what looks to be diestrus as of now, and I paired her with the buck yesterday. There was chasing at first and attempted mounting after their initial kissing, which she squeaked about and slapped him for, going into the boxing pose a few times, but never any aggression or actual fighting. Now that it has been a day, he seems to have stopped pursuing her as heavily as I have seen other male mice do, and only seems to chase halfheartedly before giving up. They cuddle in their nest together, and he grooms her face as well- are these good signs or is he giving up? Both of them are virgins, and the buck is younger, so will the pairing not happen?
