There is currently a bill that is going to the senate, and has already been passed by the House of Representatives. There is a part in this called the Lacey Act amendment. In this, it states that any animal that is not a cat, dog, or livestock, cannot be taken over state lines. This includes reptiles, birds, corals, and small mammals. If you move to another state, you would not be able to take your animal with you, because it would be considered a felony. Gaah Please join me in contacting your senators to help bring change!
