Reintroducing Litter Mates Empty Reintroducing Litter Mates

My husband and I rescued a family of mice that were taking refuge on our back porch over the winter. We set up two cages and separated them by sex. Or so we thought.

I noticed last night that one of the girls was actually a boy. It has been a month since we separated them. I think the only reason I caught this little guy was because he didn't run and hide but stood on their wheel, checking me out.

We know for sure two are the parents and the other three were their babies. To be safe we are going to sex them again, but the last thing we want to do is put two (or more) males back together and cause fighting.

What is the best thing to do? Thank you for your help!!

Debbie
