Does it have to be between the shoulderblades?

Post by River on Fri Jul 22, 2016 5:02 pm

So. Ivermectin. Second dose was today, and while I actually got just one drop this time, and managed to rub it in, Maiers kind of ended up more on her shoulder/arm rather than between the shoulder blades - she wiggles a ton. Is this just as effective?

the reason we put it between the shoulder blades is so that the mouse can't lick it off. it still works wherever you put it, but it has the best chance of getting absorbed in it's entirety between the shoulder blades. you're fine, don't worry about it.

Alright. They don't tend to lick it off for quite a while, they're always too busy exploring the new, clean cage. Thanks!

Is the ivermectin treatment it once a week for three weeks? Or once everyday for three weeks?

It's once a week for 3 weeks, 2 week break, then once a week for 3 weeks.
