Soon to be a new mouse mum!
I went to visit the breeder today and picked out 3 does! They are only 2 weeks old and I will be able to take them home at 4 or 5 weeks
Luna is the one with a silver coat (I didn't manage a good picture) Galaxy is the agouti and Eclipse is the black tan.
Edit: how do I make the pictures work! I have done it before...

Yes, I bet it is so difficult to wait till they are home with you. Hopefully the days till they are with you will go by fast.

How exciting, they are so cute!!! I lovelovelove the spotty tail on Galaxy. And how lucky that you get a black tan!

Such cute little babies! Who're the two adults with them? Mom and a nanny?

Congrats! That fox adult is gorgeous.
Cinnamon, I don't think a food breeder would bother with a nanny. Those are likely to be either two does that littered together, or simply Mum and Dad. But I could be wrong.

Re: Soon to be a new mouse mum!
She does not breed for food haha, if you are referring to the sheet underneath the tank then I can explain. She works in a privately owned pet store and I met her there to pick some of the mice. The staff room is by the reptile section and they have a tub of the frozen reptile food. She does not breed for this purpose and they are advertised as fancy mice. And there are definitely no live feeder mice in the store at all. They get the frozen rodent stock from a completely different place. Hope that cleared some things up haha.

Ah, thanks. Why such a huge litter, then? Most pet and show breeders cull down to six or fewer.

Could it of been two litters and one nanny? I'm not sure but I think I remember three adults.
Edit: Just read on the fun mouse that keeping two litters together can be beneficial to the mothers as they share the responsibility.

So sweet that the moms and nanny work together to care for the babies.

Re: Soon to be a new mouse mum!
Most of us agree that co-mothering litters is a bad idea because it can lead to one mother stealing the children or aggression or bad things like that. I'm not too familiar with it, but I know most people who have bred on here don't recommend it. It can work out sometimes though. Like, Mabel and Rosie's moms co-mothered their litters, and as far as I know it worked out.
