Getting A New Mouse Today!
You heard right! I'm leaving in about an hour. It's weird, because there seems to be a shortage of mice at all the Petsmarts on Long Island, but I finally found one that has three boys an hour away. My aunt is gonna meet me there to buy him for me. Wish me luck! I'll of course post pictures when he's home. ^.^

Re: Getting A New Mouse Today!
He's home!
Some stories from the pet store though. I was really bewildered this morning, because I was calling every Petsmart on Long Island, and not a single one of them had mice! I was getting really weirded out, because where were the mice? I finally found one an hour away that had three boys left. While I was there, I was chatting with the employees, and apparently there aren't any shipments going out right now because Petsmart upped their animal care standards for the supplier, and the supplier had to make big changes to adhere to them and keep Petsmart buying. There were inspections going on and everything. I was really glad to hear it.
Also, this might be a new thing or maybe just at the Babylon Petsmart, but they now keep boys separated. I arrived, and I was shocked to see all three of the boys they had in separate tanks. I asked if they were fighting, and the employee said that you have to keep boys separated once they get older due to territorial problems. I was really happy to hear such knowledge from him! He also seemed to know the boys really well. One of them was obsessive compulsive and seemed to be breathing funny, so I didn't take him. The other two were a huge, chubby recessive yellow (maybe a brindle actually) and a tiny chocolate. They told me that the big boy was bitey, but when I put my hand in the tank, he didn't even give me a test nibble. So of course I took him home. He seems really healthy and outgoing. Ever since he got home, he's been running around his tank excitedly, exploring all the new toys. He loves them! And when I came back in the room, he even ran up to see me. I've had good results from Petsmart mice in the past, so I'm hoping he'll be nice and easy to tame.
I'll post pictures sometime tomorrow, and I'll let you all know as soon as he's named!

He sounds like a great little man! I bet you will have loads of fun with him!
Also, that's some great news about PetSmart. I hope that change is made not just locally, but to all PetSmarts everywhere!

Re: Getting A New Mouse Today!
He's finally settling down, thank goodness. He was running around the tank for hours, but now he's finally calming down. I'm so happy that he's so happy. He had a lot of fun today, but now he's getting ready to take a nap and drinking some water. I have a few options for names in my head, but we'll see what tomorrow might bring. He really is a cutie. He's so fat! I love it!
