Oh dear, no! It's so tragic when young mice pass. Mousey lives are already too short for them to be dying young. I remember when my little Lucy died, that really shook me up.
Good to hear the other five are doing well! Do you intend to get another to fill the hole that Kiki left, or are you just gonna stick with the remaining five?

Hi
I think i'll stay with the remaining 5.. they have all been nursery raised together by their mums, and i'd hate to introduce another little girl into a group that have been together since they were born.
I was thinking of only trying to bond another if i was in the situation where i'd got 2 young girls, and one had passed.
I'll do more research into bonding new females into groups... but for now i'll just focus on the 5

Sorry to hear about Kiki. I hope you and your other girls are doing well with the loss. It's heartbreaking when they leave so young.

Hi, don't know if this link will work..but this is where i found the early onset ageing info that i commented on in my first post.
It doesn't make any difference to Kiki right now, just thought i'd show the link.
My favorite emoticon for my mouses is:

They don't want to know me this evening, bless them, probably too freaked out, bless.... i hope they settle okay X

Ah, I thought it might have been something more specific, but thanks for the link anyway! I hope your girls will come around soon.

Sounds like a mousey form of progeria, a rare accelerated aging disorder in humans. Mice are in fact used as a model in the study of progeria.
