Haha I'm sorry, CinnamonPearl! I'm so in love with all of them Very Happy I do wish there were more girls, but I guess I'm luck because, overall, I have 9 boys and 10 girls, so fairly even. It is going to be so hard to let some of these babies go Sad

Well, at least you could easily keep all the girls! You may need to split the colonies up a little, but you could easily keep all of them in two 20g longs and maybe a 10g. The boys will be harder, unfortunately. Sad

Aww. I've been looking for a boy, but haven't been looking for a trip to Texas. Any chance you are planning a vacation up north at all? Maybe around the time, oh, when the babies are weaned? Laughing I wish.

I wish shipping mice was possible! Then we could all share each other's litters. I wonder if it's possible to send them places safely by air? It'd probably be immensely expensive though. >.<

Yeah! I currently have my girls split to 3 and 2 (and then my girls with litters are by themselves right now, but they were together before) simply because I currently don't have any cages big enough for more than that. However, I've been looking at getting some in the future and this may be my incentive!
Yeah, that is the only bad thing about boys. I'm hoping I can find homes for a lot of them. I have the means to care for them if I can't, but ideally, I'd want to get rid of some simply because of space and supplies.

EverythingAnimal- I wish! I would love to send a boy or two with you. It sucks that everyone is so spread out. I wish there was a safe, inexpensive way to ship mice. I've been wanting to get true show mice, but have yet to find a breeder close to me! So, I've been with pet store mice!

@southerncharmmice wrote:I totally agree with the neutering part. Not that I would ever try it, but I wonder if males would even be inclined to fight anymore with the lack of hormones? Would be interesting to see.

Unfortunately, even neutered boys most often can't be housed together. It's just not in their nature to live with other males and chances are they will still fight. Neutered bucks could however live with a group of girls.

The babies are growing so fast and getting cuter with every pic!

I'm actually curious now. What would be the pros and cons to neutering a buck? Is there a way to do it safely?

It's hard to believe, but those babies are getting cuter every day!

It's a shame that neutering them doesn't help stop the fighting...

And thanks for all the comments!  I have to agree that I love all of the unique patterns also!

UPDATE:
Jess' Litter
They're getting so big and squirmy. I held them all today and most sat comfortably which was awesome! I also got pictures of the boys and girls separately.

Boys

3 girls

Riley's Litter
These babies are doing awesome! They're very squirmy and quick now and will crawl all over the place when I'm handling them. I still think I have a few satins, but I am not sure. They are just so shiny!

I think at least those two boys in the middle of the last picture are satin. But the pics are cut off for me (on my phone) so I can't see them all. They're all looking really good.

UPDATE:

No photos today, unfortunately! My phone died so I wasn't able to get any!

Jess' Litter
Everyone is doing great. Jess is so sweet. She has started to take food form me and more willingly comes towards my hand. I still have to get her on something to pick her up, but we are making progress!

Riley's Litter
EYES ARE OPEN!!!
Most of the babies had their eyes open today and I swear they are 1000000000x cuter. Ugh, I wish they stayed this litter forever!
Also, is it normal for the babies to nibble my fingers? I wouldn't call it a full bite and they seem very calm. It's very light and quick, like they're testing me out, haha! Now that they are moving a lot more and can see, I'm just assuming they are curious? They were sniffing all over me and nibbling a bit when I put my hand in the cage. It was kind of cute Smile

Aww, little eyes are the cutest. Nibbles are normal, just making sure you're not something yummy. Razz

UPDATE:

Jess' Litter

Why would Jess have her litter split up?
So, yesterday, I noticed that Jess had her litter split. 3 babies were under the wheel and 6 babies were back in the nesting box. I thought maybe she was in the process of moving them or maybe the nesting box was getting too small and run down. So, I dropped in another, larger nesting box and let her and her babies be.
Well, today, she still has them split up. This time, it is 2 and 7. 2 are under the wheel and 7 are in the new nesting box. The 2 under the wheel are 2 of the original 3 that were there yesterday. Does anyone know why this could be? I'm really hoping that they aren't sick or something and she is getting ready to cull them.

Anyways, here are some photos for you Smile I've noticed that her babies are starting to explore more. I've seen several peeking out and even following Jess out for a bit!

Banded babies. I'm probably going to keep the one on the left Very Happy

Colored rump male and brindled girl

Riley's Litter
These babies are so awesome! They are super curious and adventurous. As soon as I put my hand in the cage, they immediately crawl all over me and sniff around. They are so calm and sweet when I pick them up! They sit still and let me pet them or they will even try to come up my arm. I wish they would stay this tiny forever! They are so stinking cute!!!!

I'm 99% positive that all of her litter is satin. The only ones I'm not sure about are the mystery babies. Satin babies are so shiny Love

Also, would the sooty yellow babies have faded to yellow yet? I'm wondering if they aren't agouti?

This baby is one of the 'mystery babies'.
