Pregnant and possible high pitched noise? New nursery

Post by newchance360 on Thu 20 Oct 2016, 2:03 pm

Hi all,

Newby to the forum here. I am setting up a new nursery room for the mice with peace, quiet, darkness, heat control and humidity control. I think it's too stressful in the current environment as the dogs can walk by and it's a higher traffic area.
Veronica is going to pop any day now.
Only problem I'm worried about is that we have an internet signal booster in this room and it must stay for the cameras so I can monitor moms and babies.
I'm hearing a high pitched noise coming from the booster and I'm wondering if this will have negative effects.
The noise does not bother my danes at all. But they do not hear quite as high pitched as mice do.
I looked it up and a dog hears in the range of 67-45,000, mice hear in the 1,000-91,000 (even rats can't hear that high - 200-76,000)
Since I can hear it, would be out of the range of mice?
I would really rather not subject one of my mice to an experiment to see what the effects are. But, if I have to I have a male (Archie) who I could take in there. He's robust, healthy and doesn't have many fears.

Has anyone had this problem?

Thank you so very much in advance for any help.

I don't know about this one. Maybe you should use your male to test, but only for a very short period of time, all while watching very closely so you can see If it immediately starts bothering him?

Just a casual mouse lover.
